In order to get legally married in Cancun, there are a few requirements you need.

Bride, Groom & Witnesses must arrive to Cancun 4 working days prior to the wedding day (Saturdays, Sundays & Mexican Holidays do not count), the wedding coordinator must receive the following documents in order to start the corresponding application for a marriage in the Civil Registry Office.

Requirements:
• • Tourist card (you will get them at your arrival to the Cancun airport)
• • Birth Certificates (Bride & Groom). Those documents should be translated into Spanish and the cost is $50.00 USD +11% tax per each birth certificate, translation must be done here in Mexico, otherwise will not be valid.
• • Valid Passports (This is essential, otherwise the wedding cannot be performed)
• • The blood tests are taken in Mexico; they are not valid if it is taken elsewhere. To be considered valid the test should not be taken more than 14 days prior to the ceremony. The blood will be tested for HIV, RPR (sexually transmitted diseases) and blood type. The results will be ready in 24 hours together with a certificate of the blood test and the charge will be $300 USD + 11% tax per couple.
• • Legal form completed with the names, addresses, nationalities, ages, occupation, relationship, for bride, groom. Wedding Coordinator will send you the legal form.
• • Transportation fee for justice of the peace $ 80 USD

The Marriage Certificate is only valid in Mexico. In order to make it legal internationally, it the wedding coordinator will send a copy of your License to Validation Process.

The fee will be $165 USD + 11% tax with a translated copy in English. The process may take up to 1-4 months. Once the document is apostilled and translated into English the Hotel will send all documentation to your home address.

* NEW LEGAL REQUIREMENT! Special Certificate (CIR). Please send 2 months prior the wedding scanned copies of the bride and groom's passport and birth certificates to request a NON marriage letter by Quintana Roo State. This letter certifies the couple does not have a previous marriage registered in the State of Quintana Roo. This Certification letter fee is $ 120 USD + 11% tax per wedding couple.

If someone is divorced, they must send a scanned copy of the Divorce Decree & Birth Certificate Apostil , so the resort can send it to be translated in Spanish by a certified translator in Mexico.

None of the above mentioned services are included in our Wedding Packages. It is the couple's responsibility to have all the documents ready before the wedding.

All weddings, regardless of size, must be booked a minimum of 30 days in advance of the wedding date. Subject to availability and double occupancy only. Prices and package subject to change without notice. This package cannot be combined with the Dreams Eternity Honeymoon Package for both to be received complimentary and the free wedding package cannot be deducted when purchasing other packages. 15% discount on spa treatments cannot be applied to spa packages or combined with any other spa promotion or offer. Monica and Claudia did an amazing job in listening to everything we wanted and making it even better then we had expected. My name is Jill Hilton and I was married at Dreams Cancun on May 6, 2011. As I've been telling all my friends and family since I returned, it was absolutely the best decision I've ever made. Claudia was my coordinator and helped make the whole thing stress-free for me and beautiful and fun for all of my guests. A few hours with Claudia just two days before the wedding and all of the details were set. I didn't spend any time the day before or the day of worrying about anything because I knew Claudia had it handled.

As for the ceremony, I had a symbolic religious ceremony at the gazebo right before sunset. The gazebo and its decorations with the sky and water background were absolutely amazing and the ceremony was quick but very lovely and spiritual. A cocktail hour immediately followed the ceremony while the sun set and then came the reception, both on the beach. Food was amazing at both the cocktail hour and reception - I definitely recommend including the tortilla soup as part of your menu. Our Tres Leches wedding cake was also so moist and wonderful. Drink service was impeccable and fast, and from time to time the waiters brought out trays of colorful fruity shots.

Roy was my DJ/MC and was wonderful about moving us from dances to dinner to cake cutting to bouquet/garter toss and finally to the fun part, dancing! He kept the party going and lots of people were on the dance floor the whole time. My favorite parts of the reception were 1.) the colorful lighted dance floor that changed colors with the music and 2.) the complete surprise when the Dreams staff brought balloons for us to play with on the dance floor – it may sound silly but it was so fun and different.

My husband, who didn't even want the traditional wedding hubbub, even had the time of his life. I cannot thank Dreams enough for giving me and my husband, Jake, the perfect wedding and all of my friends and family the most amazing four days together.

My name is Stephanie Fus and I wanted to write and tell you about the amazing wedding I had at the Dreams Cancun location. First of all Claudia was absolutely amazing! Her proffessionalism, personality, and suggestions were impeccable! Her attention to detail made our wedding perfect!! It meant alot she was there for our reception making sure everything went well which it did, Honestly, everything came together better than we could have imagined thanks to her and her team! We also wanted to recognize our videogragher! the video is amazing and he did an outstanding job of capturing our day. We really appreciate the time and effort that was put into the video. And there are not words to decribe how much we loved Alex and Juan our photographers! Everything turned out perfect!!! We just wanted you too know that you have an awesome staff that even though they do countless weddings they truly make you feel like yours is special and they are excited about it!
